Richard Mellon Scaife,nació el 3 de julio de 1932 en Pittsburgh (Pennsylvania), Estados Unidos. Es un multimillonario y dueño del Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, además posee 7.2% de NewsMax. Con más de 1.200 millones de dólares, Scaife es el heredero principal de las industrias bancarias de aceite, y de aluminio de su familia.

Scaife es particularmente conocido por su ayuda a las organizaciones humanitarias. Su aporte a la fundación de cual es heredero ha sido un factor importante en el desarrollo de de uno de los institutos de investigación más influyentes del orden público de los Estados Unidos. También ha ha apoyado a otras organizaciones conservadoras en temas políticos.
