PHASR Rifle

El rifle (PHASR) Personnel Halting and Stimulation Response es un prototipo de arma no letal creado por el Departamento de Defensa de los Estados Unidos. Su propósito es desorientar temporalmente al sujeto a detener, siendo probada en el pasado pero abandonado sobre el año 1995.

El rifle con un láser de poca intensidad puede ser reculado por el usuario. Ajustando la potencia de las microondas a las que van a exponer al objetivo. Los efectos sobre el objetivo van desde pequeñas molestias hasta quemaduras de segundo grado. Aunque se conoce los efectos de las microondas en los seres humanos no existe tanta información al respecto cuando se aplican en forma de rayo en un área determinada de la piel.

Su nombre PHASR proviene de la serie de ficción Star Trek, en la cual se podía ver un arma parecida.
