Ruth Hubbard Feminista etadounidense. Empezó estudiando fisiología y bioquímica de la visión. Fue la primera y por mucho tiempo la única profesora numeraria de biología en Hardvard, una facultad en la que había cuarenta y tres profesores numerarios. Cuando finalmente fue elegida profesora, despues de muchos años de trabajar como invstigadora adjunta, tuvo la gallardía de informar a sus colegas que abandonaba su carrera como investigadora, que la habia llevado al nmbramiento, y que en el futuro se dedicaría a estudiar los aspectos sociales y femeninos de la biología.
