El cardenal azul o frutero azul (Stephanophorus diadematus) es un ave de la familia de las Thraupidae.

Características y localización

Es de color azul purpurado con una corona blanca característica con un pequeño manchón rojo. Se encuentra mayormente en áreas abiertas del sur de Brasil, nordeste de Argentina[2] y Uruguay.[3]
