TANSTAAFL es una sigla del adagio en inglés "There Ain't No Such Thing As A Free Lunch", que traducido casi literalmente al español significa "No hay tal cosa como un almuerzo gratis" o "No existen almuerzos gratis", y en una versión más usual se identifica con el refrán "Nadie da algo por nada" o "Nadie regala nada".

Esta sigla, y la frase que contiene, son de origen incierto, y fueron popularizados por el escritor de ciencia ficción Robert A. Heinlein en su novela de 1966 The Moon Is a Harsh Mistress (traducida al español con el título La Luna es una cruel amante). En dicha novela, el acrónimo aparece traducido como "Neeag", "No existe el almuerzo gratis". El economista Milton Friedman hizo también amplio uso de ella en sus escritos y declaraciones, así como de la versión en latín "nunquam prandium liberum".

La frase es frecuentemente usada en libros de economía, y por sectores políticos liberales libertarios y anarquistas de mercado, significando que los servicios y asistencia pública gratuita o los subsidios estatales no son gratuitos en realidad, sino que son financiados por los mismos ciudadanos de forma obligatoria.
