"Tavisupleba" (en georgiano თავისუფლება) es el himno nacional de Georgia desde 2004. Su título significa "Libertad".

Historia

El nuevo himno nacional georgiano fue adoptado el 23 de abril de 2004, exactamente cinco meses después de la renuncia del ex presidente Eduard Shevardnadze (antiguo Ministro de Relaciones Exteriores de la Unión Soviética). "Tavisupleba" sucedió al antiguo himno Dideba zetsit kurtheuls, adoptado después de la independencia del país de la Unión Soviética. El texto es de la autoría de Davit Maghradze (დავით მაღრაძე) y la música de Zakaria Paliashvili (ზაქარია ფალიაშვილი). El himno fue compuesto por Ioseb Kechakmadze (იოსებ კეჭაყმაძე).
