The Australian

The Australian (también llamado The Oz) es un periódico propiedad de Rupert Murdoch y News Corporation. Su sede central se encuentra en Sydney, pero tiene oficinas en toda Australia. Fue fundado en 1964, pero en los siguientes treinta años no consiguió altos índices de rentabilidad. El número de lectores es de aproximadamente 130.000 y de 295.000 por los fines de semana.

Sus periodistas más destacados son Paul Kelly, Greg Sheridan, Phillip Adams, Janet Albrechtsen y Angela Shanahan. Tiene tiras cómicas de Bill Leak y Peter Nicholson. Su editor jefe es a noviembre de 2005 Chris Mitchell.
