Trama
Cassie Keller es una adolescente de 13 años que se molesta con sus padres por prestarle mas atención a su hermanito Max de 9 años,por la vispera de Halloween,Cassie conoce a un chico llamado Sean,entonces empieza su aventura. En la víspera de Halloween, Cassie encuentra un libro mágico llamado "The Evil Thing" en una misteriosa tienda. Cuando su pequeño hermano insiste en escuchar la historia, Cassie ignora las advertencias de que los lectores no lo leyesen en voz alta, para asustar a su hermanito, ya que no creia en las advertencias. Con el resultado que los guía hacía el bosque detrás de su casa y hacía un enigmatico extraño.
