The N

The N (abreviación: The Nighttime Network for Teens) fue un canal de televisión en los Estados Unidos dirigido a adolescentes y adultos jóvenes. Fue lanzado el 1 de abril de 2002 como un bloque nocturno en el canal Noggin que se emitia de 6PM a 6AM. El 31 de diciembre de 2007, el canal fue separado de Noggin y pasó a ser un canal de 24 horas.

Historia

Inicialmente, The N se transmitió libre de publicidad (al igual que muchos otros canales de MTV Networks). A veces se mostraban propagandas del mismo canal o videos de música. En mayo de 2004, The N empezó a mostrar más publicidad del mismo canal u otros de MTV Networks.

En octubre de 2006, Viacom Inc. compró la página web Quizilla, empezando a ser parte del canal.

El 31 de diciembre de 2007, Noggin y The N se convirtieron en canales independientes, ya que The N ocupó la posición que hasta ese día ocupaba Nick GAS, que ese día finalizó sus emisiones y se convirtió en un canal de transmisión vía internet (a través de TurboNick. The N transmite programas del actual TEENick (programas dedicados a adolescentes en el canal Nickelodeon) y series de la misma temática, y anteriores.


Fin de Transmiciones

El 28 de septiembre de 2009 el canal cambiará de nombre a TeenNick y estrenará un nuevo logotipo junto a sus canales hermanos Nickelodeon, Nick at Nite, Nicktoons Network y Nick Jr.(antes Noggin).
