Toccata, adagio y fuga BWV 564

Toccata, Adagio y Fuga BWV 564 es una composición para órgano de J.S.Bach, compuesta en Weimar en 1716, siendo una de las más destacadas del repertorio del instrumento y de los mayores logros del autor en el ámbito de la música organística.

La obra tiene 3 secciones principales: Toccata, Adagio y Fuga.

  • La Toccata es una sección de invención y temática muy libre, muy improvisada y virtuosa, donde el pedal participa mucho y hace destacadas entradas a solo.
  • El Adagio es una sección tranquila y serena, donde se advierte una gran influencia italiana.
  • La Fuga, una de las primeras grandes fugas del autor, como la BWV 565, donde se muestra características juveniles, e inmaduras, del primer Bach.

La obra está escrita a 3 voces, es decir, requiere el teclado y pedal completo del órgano.
