Un try[1] (ensayo en España)[2] es la mayor manera de marcar puntos en un partido de rugby league y rugby union. El try es anotado cuando un jugador apoya el balón detrás de la línea de in-goal del equipo rival o sobre la misma.

El try es parecido al touchdown del fútbol americano y del fútbol canadiense, con la diferencia de que el try requiere que el jugador apoye el balón sobre el campo de juego.
