USS Connecticut

USS Connecticut ha sido el nombre recibido por siete buques de la Armada de los Estados Unidos en honor al estado de Connecticut, el quinto estado en sumarse a la Unión:

  • El góndola que sirvió en el Ejército Continental el el Lago Champlain durante la Guerra de la Independencia de los Estados Unidos, y que participó en la Batalla de la isla de Valcour.
  • El USS Pompanoosuc,fue un vapor de hélice en construcción en los astilleros de Boston en 1863, fue renombrado USS Connecticut el 15 de mayo de 1869, pero no llegó a ser botado. Fue desguazado en 1884.
  • El monitor que fue renombrado durante su construcción, y entró en servicio con el nombre de USS Nevada. Años después, fue renombrado buque nodriza de submarinos con el citado nombre durante la Primera Guerra Mundial.
  • El submarino nuclear de Clase Seawolf. Fue dado de alta el 11 de diciembre de 1998 y permanece en servicio.
