Vernon Lee

Vernon Lee, seudónimo de Violet Paget {n. 1856 en Château St Leonard, Boulogne, Francia; † 1935 en Florencia, Italia} fue una escritora británica, reconocida actualmente por sus trabajos sobre ficción sobrenatural, también cultivó la novela y el relato, el libro de viajes, el estudio del arte y la música italiana, el ensayo sobre estética y también la polémica.

Aun cuando se estableció en Londres, vivió casi toda su vida en Florencia. Toda su obra, cuarenta volúmenes, gira en torno a la vida y la cultura de este país donde se codeó con las principales figuras literarias inglesas del siglo XIX: Robert Browning, Walter Pater, G.B.Shaw, Whistler, Edith Wharton.
