August Bebel

August Bebel

August Bebel (1840-1913) fue un destacado dirigente socialdemócrata alemán. Comenzó trabajando duramente para salir adelante en diferentes lugares de Alemania, momento en el cual ya empezó su formación intelectual, entrando en contacto con personajes como Wilhelm Liebknecht. Fue diputado de la Asamblea de la Confederación del Norte, siempre opuesto a la política de Bismarck y el posterior imperialismo. En 1869 participa en la fundación del Partido Socialdemócrata alemán (SPD), siendo desde entonces un importante dirigente y miembro del Reichstag.
