Zarahemla

Libro de Mormón, la Tierra de Zarahemla, (atribuido popularmente al hebreo bíblico זֶרַע חֶמְלָה Zéraʻ Ḥemlā "semilla de compasión") fue la capital nefita por muchos años, y fue descubierta por Mosíah en una fecha entre el año 323 y el 130 a. C. Sus habitantes contaron a Mosíah que también eran judíos que salieron de Jerusalén en la época de Sedequías, el último rey de Judá, y eran llamados Mulekites.

Aunque La Iglesia de Jesucristo de los Santos de los Últimos Días cree que Zarahemla fue una ciudad que en realidad existió en la tierra, ninguno puede señalar con exactitud su localización. Estudiosos de los Santos de Los Últimos Días han publicado sus teorías al respecto, pero la Iglesia de Jesucristo de los Santos de los Últimos Días no ha adoptado a ninguna de ellas como la correcta. La Iglesia enseña que Zarahemla existiría en un punto intermedio entre sur y norteamérica, y que fue completamente destruida o quemada.
