Tiene un hermano llamado, Stephen Halsall.

En el 2005 comenzó a salir con la actriz Lucy-Jo Hudson, la pareja se casó el 13 de junio del 2009 en Cheshire.[1] [2]

Carrera

Alan ha aparecido en series como Heartbeat, Hetty Wainthropp Investigates y en Queer As Folk '.

El 30 de noviembre de 1998 se unió al elenco de la exitosa serie británica Coronation Street donde interpreta a Tyrone Dobbs, hasta ahora.[3]
