Anexo:Alias honoríficos en la música popular

Los alias honoríficos en la música popular son, a menudo, apelativos religiosos, familiares o (la más frecuente) reales y aristocráticos, usado como una forma de expresión en los medios de comunicación o para identificar el significado notable e influyente de un artista por sus fans. Los alias honoríficos fueron usados en la música clásica de Europa a inicios del siglo XIX, con figuras como Mozart siendo llamado "El padre de la música moderna" y Bach como "El padre de la música del piano moderno".[1] Estos apelativos, también, fueron particularmente prominentes en la cultura afroamericana, posterior a la era de la Guerra Civil, tal vez como un medio de concesión negado por la esclavitud, y como resultado entró en los primeros pasos de la música jazz y blues, incluyendo a figuras como Duke Ellington y Count Bassie.[2]

En la cultura americana, a pesar de su constitución republicana e ideológica, cuatro alias honoríficos se han utilizado para describir a figuras destacadas en distintos ámbitos de actividad, tales como la industria, el comercio, el deporte y los medios de comunicación; el padre o la madre se han utilizado para los innovadores, y títulos reales como rey y reina para figuras dominantes en un campo específico.[3] [4] En los años 30 y 40, de tal manera que el jazz y el swing fueron ganando popularidad, estos géneros musicales se hicieron más comerciales y exitosos con artistas como Paul Whiteman y Benny Goodman siendos conocidos como "El Rey del Jazz" y "El Rey del Swing, respectivamente, aunque que estas formas musicales surgieron de la cultura afroamericana.[5] El uso de los alias también pasaron al uso en el rock and roll, iniciado en los años 50. Se intentó encontrar (y un número de personas clamaban serlo) a "El Rey de Rock and Roll", un título que se comenzó a asociar con Elvis Presley.[6] Esto ha sido visto como parte de un proceso de consignación de crédito para la innovación de la entonces nueva música por un establecimiento blanco.[7] Diferentes honorificaciones fueron tomadas o entregadas para otras figuras líderes en el género, como "El Arquitecto del Rock and Roll", de Little Richard en los años 1990, [8] pero este término, como muchos, también es usado para otras importantes figuras, en este caso incluyendo al pionero de la guitarra eléctrica Les Paul.[9]

Alias honoríficos similares fueron entregados en otros géneros, incluyendo a Aretha Franklin, literalmente coronada como la "Reina del Soul" por el DJ Pervis Spann en el escenario, en 1968.[10] Otros alias fueron adoptados para emular directamente a estos, donde tenemos ejemplo al apelativo "Rey del Pop" de Michael Jackson.[11] [12]

Muchos de estas asignaciones son usadas como un proceso de márketing y puede ser adoptadas o caer en desuso por la prensa y los fans en un tiempo determinado.[13] Muchas de ellas, fueron fuertemente promulgadas y refutadas por varios artistas[14] y, en ocasiones, repudiados o minimizados por sus súbditos. Algunos de estos alias son usados, en general, para identificar a individuos en particular, por su estilo o trayectoria.

Después de los principales términos (padre, madre, rey, reina), existe otros apelativos usados para designar su influencia particular o diferente en un género o ámbito. Estos son "padrino", "madrina", "emperatriz", "emperador", "diva", "princesa", "príncipe", "abuelo", "maestro", "señor", "modfather" (utilizado para designar a un personaje influyente en el movimiento mod, como ejemplo principal a Paul Weller), "señora", "señor", "dios", entre otros.
