Hot Topic[1] es de una cadena estadounidense especializada en música, ropa de la cultura pop y accesorios. La mayoría de las tiendas están ubicadas en centros comerciales. La primera tienda Hot Topic fue inaugurada en 1988 por Orv Madden, quien se retiró como CEO en 2000 y fue reemplazado por Betsy McLaughlin, quien dirigió la empresa hasta el año 2011. Lisa Harper recientemente asumió el cargo de CEO en marzo de 2011. La compañía salió a la bolsa[2] y comenzó a cotizar en el NASDAQ en 1996. En 2006, Hot Topic fue puesto numero 53 en la lista "Fortune" 500 Mejores Compañías para Trabajar.
