Terrance Wayne "Terry" Allen (11 de junio de 1959) es un ex luchador profesional estadounidense, mejor conocido por su nombre en el ring, Magnum T.A..

Carrera

Inicios

Allen comenzó a luchar en 1977 y se unió a la National Wrestling Alliance, donde comenzó a competir por el Campeonato de Lucha Libre de la Florida y en los territorios del Pacífico Noroeste de Lucha Libre. Mientras que en el CWF, Allen iba a ganar el Campeonato Mundial de Tag Team en cinco ocasiones diferentes antes de trasladarse a continuación, Mid-South Wrestling. Tras su debut en Mid-South, Allen se cambió el nombre de Magnum TA y adoptó un personaje conocido como el "Latido del corazón de América", con base en ligero parecido a Allen Magnum actor Tom Selleck en la televisión de carácter, PI.[1] Allen adoptó el nombre en el ring después de André el Gigante sugerido que combinar el nombre de Magnum con las iniciales de su nombre real.[2] [3] Después de competir en Mid-South, que ganó el Campeonato Peso Pesado de América del Norte, su primer gran título, después de derrotar a Mr. Wrestling II el 13 de mayo de 1984.[2] Magnum celebraría el título durante cinco meses antes de que él perdió a "El Gato" Ernie Ladd el 16 de octubre.[2] El 22 de noviembre, Magnum perdido Ladd por descalificación en una revancha de título y por lo tanto, no ganó el título.[2]

Jim Crockett Promotions

En 1984, Jim de la National Wrestling Alliance Crockett Promociones firmado Allen. Después de su debut, Magnum empezó un feudo con Wahoo McDaniel y lo derrotó en los Estados Unidos Heavyweight Championship el 23 de marzo de 1985.[2]
