Un baby shower es una fiesta en la que los padres reciben obsequios para su hijo esperado o ya nacido.

Por convención, un baby shower tiene como fin ayudar a los padres a obtener objetos que necesitarán para su niño (como ropa de bebé, mamaderas, etc.). Es una tradición popular en Estados Unidos y en otros lugares influidos por la cultura y los medios de comunicación estadounidenses. En algunos países esta fiesta no se celebra hasta que el bebé ha nacido.

En décadas pasadas, esta fiesta se ha vuelto más común, ya que las familias se han hecho más pequeñas, y cada niño recibe más atención individual. Tradicionalmente, la futura madre era quien realizaba el baby shower, y sólo asistían mujeres.
