New Prog Orígenes musicales Rock alternativo, Música experimental, Rock Progresivo Orígenes culturales Su aparición está al rededor del fin de los 90’s y principios de los 2000 Instrumentos comunes Guitarra - Bajo - Batería - Teclados - Intrumentos de viento Popularidad Poca El New prog (o Nü prog, Post-progresivo) es un término usado para describir el estilo musical de cierto número de bandas que incorporan elementos del rock progresivo con otros estilos más recientes de la música y tintes experimentales. Suele ser catalogado como un subgénero del Rock Progresivo, el cual combina elementos del Rock Progresivo con estilos tales como Rock Alternativo, Post-Hardcore y Post-Rock.
La lista de bandas dentro de este subgénero incluye a algunas bandas de Art Rock con influencias similares. Esta lista no incluye a las bandas que tocaban música progresiva durante los 70's o bandas que tocan Metal progresivo.[1]
