Scarborough (Trinidad y Tobago)

Scarborough es la ciudad más grande de Tobago, una de las dos principales islas de la República de Trinidad y Tobago. Su población es de alrededor de 17.000, casi un tercio de la población de la isla. La ciudad está dominada por Fort King George, una fortificación del siglo 18 el nombre del Rey Jorge III, que ahora alberga un museo histórico y arqueológico. En aguas profundas del puerto de Scarborough, fue construido en 1991, antes de que los buques se vieron obligados a anclar en alta mar.

Scarborough se convirtió en la capital de Tobago en 1769, cuando sustituyó a la entonces capital de Georgetown. Bajo el gobierno francés fue nombrado Port Louis.

La ciudad de Scarborough es la sede principal de la Asamblea de Tobago, que se encarga de la administración local en Tobago.

Un servicio de ferry con enlaces Scarborough Puerto España, Trinidad. Al igual que el resto de la isla de Tobago, Scarborough es servida por el aeropuerto de Crown Point ubicado en Crown Point.
