Summer Wine

"Summer Wine" es una canción escrita por Lee Hazlewood. Originalmente fue interpretada por Suzi Jane Hokom y Lee Hazlewood en 1966, pero se hizo popular con la interpretación de Nancy Sinatra y Lee Hazlewood en 1967. Esta versión se editó por primera vez en la cara B- del álbum "Sugar Town" un año antes del dúo Nancy & Lee LP en 1968. Fue el primer dueto de Sinatra y Hazlewood de una serie de populares interpretaciones en dúo.

"Summer Wine" describe a un hombre, vocalizado por Hazlewood, que se encuentra con una mujer, Sinatra, quien se percata de sus espuelas de plata y le invita a tomar un vino con ella. Después de embriagarse, el hombre se despierta resacoso para descubrir que tanto su dinero como sus espuelas han sido robados por la misteriosa mujer.

Versiones

La canción fue versionada por Demis Roussos, Bono de U2 junto a The Corrs, la banda sueca Ultima Thule, Gry con FM Einheit y su orquesta, Anna Hanski & Lee Hazlewood, Scooter (en 2000 con el álbum Sheffield) y por Ville Valo & Natalia Avelon para la banda sonora de Das Wilde Leben. "Summer Wine" también fue versionada por Ed Kuepper y Clare Bowditch en la feria de juegos de culto australiana Rockwiz.[1]
