Tawny (color)

Tawny es un color marrón amarillento.[1] La palabra significa "de color tostado," de Anglo-Francés tauné "relacionados con el color marrón-amarillo de la piel curtida del francés antiguo Tané "para ocultar tan" de tannare latín medieval de tannum "corteza de roble aplastado", que se utiliza en el curtido de cuero, probablemente de un origen celta (por ejemplo, Tann Breton "roble").[2]

No hay una traducción exacta de la palabra Tawny al idioma español, siendo esta imprecisa pudiendo también referirse además del color del curtido a los colores del oporto, leonado y moreno.
