The Age of Plastic (1979) fue el primer álbum lanzando por el grupo de pop sintético The Buggles, conformado por Trevor Horn y Geoff Downes. El álbum es un álbum de concepto, con temas de intensa nostalgia y ansiedad sobre los posibles efectos de la tecnología moderna. Fue seguido por el éxito del su primer sencillo, Video Killed The Radio Star (1979), el cual alcanzó el No. 1 en los rankings de singles del Reino Unido. Otros tres sencillos fueron lanzados del álbum (Living In The Plastic Age, Clean, Clean y Elstree), pero obtuvieron poco éxito.
