The Artist es una película de 2011 dirigida por Michel Hazanavicius, y protagonizada por Jean Dujardin y Bérénice Bejo. Se trata de un largometraje mudo y en blanco y negro cuya historia toma lugar en Hollywood entre 1927 y 1931.

La película se estrenó en el Festival de Cannes, donde ganó el premio al Mejor Actor para Jean Dujardin. Posteriormente fue presentada en otros festivales como el Festival de Toronto[1] y el Festival de San Sebastián, cosechando el Premio del Público en este último.

Sinopsis

Hollywood, 1927: Mientras la estrella del cine mudo George Valentin se pregunta sí la llegada del cine sonoro lo hará desvanecerse en el olvido, tiene chispas con Peppy Miller, una joven bailarina lista para una gran oportunidad.
