The Waltons fue una serie de televisión norteamericana creada por Earl Hammer Jr. La trama se centraba en la vida de una familia del estado norteamericano de Virginia mientras intentaban salir adelante durante los tiempos de la Gran Depresión y Segunda Guerra Mundial.

Argumento

El argumento de la serie tiene lugar en el pueblo ficticio de Walton's Mountain en el ficticio condado de Jefferson en el estado de Virginia. La serie se centra entre los años de 1933 a 1946 y narra los sucesos alrededor de la familia Walton formada por John y Olivia; sus siete hijos y los padres de John. Ellos intentan llevar una vida digna ante las dificultades históricas del momento. La vida familiar de los Walton se relaciona con otros personajes del pueblo con fuertes características campiranas. Debido a la fuerte carga histórica del contexto en el cual se desarrolla la serie constantmente los acontecimientos históricos rompen la vida familar de los Walton como la Segunda Guerra Mundial que llama al frente a los 4 hijos varones de John y Olivia.
