La XII entrega de los Brit Awards se celebró en el Hammersmith Odeon. En cuanto a los premiados Lisa Stanfield logro ser premiada por tercer año consecutivo y Queen recibió el premio al mejor single 15 años después de obtener el primero. Curiosamente y por primera y única vez en la historia hubo empate en la categoría de mejor grupo británico.
