COMDEX

COMDEX (Computer Dealer's Exhibition) era un exposición de computadores llevada a cabo en Las Vegas, cada noviembre desde 1979 hasta el 2003. Era una de las convenciones de negocios de computadores más grandes del mundo. La primera COMDEX se llevó a cabo en 1979 en el MGM Grand Hotel and Casino, con 150 expositores y 4.000 asistentes. En 1981, la COMDEX/Spring se realizó en Nueva York.


En el 2000, grandes compañías como IBM, Apple Computer y Compaq decidieron descontinuar su participación en la COMDEX debido a los costos y a la falta de calidad. En Junio de 2004, COMDEX oficialmente canceló la exposición de ese mismo año que debió haberse realizado en Las Vegas debido a la falta de participantes. COMDEX fue cancelada definitivamente y ha sido reemplazada por Interop.[1]
