Calvià Chess Festival

Calvià Chess Festival es un evento ajedrecístico que forma parte del campeonato de ajedrez del mundo. Se celebra en el municipio español de Calviá, en Mallorca, la mayor de las Islas Baleares. Su inauguración fue el 14 de octubre de 2004 en el casino del término (el único de la isla) y consistió en la 36ª Olimpiada de Ajedrez mundial en la que participaron alrededor de 1700 jugadores. Entre muchos otros se encontraban Kasparov, Judit Polgár, Alexei Shirov y Paco Vallejo. El país campeón masculino fue Ucrania, China el Femenino, Loos en el sub2300, y Halafov en el sub2000.[1]
