Above the Rim

Above the Rim es una película de género dramático dirigida en 1994 por Jeff Pollack. El guion fue escrito por el mismo Pollack y por el periodista reconvertido en guionista Benny Medina.

Está protagonizada por Tupac Amaru Shakur (Birdie), Marlon Wayans (Bugaloo), Leon Robinson (Shep), John Thompson (como él mismo) y Christofer Andrews. Narra la historia de una prometedora estrella del baloncesto en una escuela de educación secundaria de Nueva York y su relación con dos personas: un traficante de drogas y una estrella de baloncesto empleada como guardia de seguridad en su antigua escuela de secundaria.
