Dual Flash es el formato actual de la portátil Nintendo DS. Esta almacena 1 Gigabit en su tipo 1, o sea, 128 MB. Sin Embargo ya se ha desarrollado el tipo 2 de 2 Gigabits(256 MB) y proxmamente junto al juego Need for Speed 2 se utilizara el tipo 3 de 4 Gigabits(512 MB) y posteriormente se desarrollaran mejores como lo fue con el cartucho de Nintendo 64 que logró superar por 8 veces al final su cartucho inicial.

Los Dual Flash son casi del tamaño de una tarjeta SD. Estas presentan el mayor avance en portátiles de Nintendo ya que deja atrás el cartucho estándar de GB de 32, 64, 128, 256 y 512 megabits por una más compacta y de mayor almacenamiento y tecnología. Nintendo planea convertirlas en un formato estándar que permita la visualización de no solo juegos sino video y audio en cargo de la compañía Majesco.
