Ed Westwick (nacido 27 de junio de 1987) es un actor inglés mejor conocido por su papel de Chuck Bass en el elenco principal en la serie de televisión estadounidense Gossip Girl. También es el cantante de la banda de rock inglesa The Filthy Youth.

Biografía

Primeros años

Westwick nació en Stevenage, Hertfordshire, hijo de Carole, una psicóloga educativa, y Peter Westwick, un profesor de negocios. Él es el más joven de tres hijos.[1] Los Westwick asistieron a St Ippolyts Iglesia de Inglaterra la escuela primaria y la Escuela de Barclay. Él era un estudiante en la Universidad del Norte Hertfordshire cuando hizo su primera película, Breaking and Entering, dirigida por el difunto Anthony Minghella.

Carrera

Westwick formados en el National Youth Theatre de Londres. Actuó en la serie de televisión británica Doctors (como "Holden"), Casualty (como "Johnny Cullin") y Afterlife (como "Darren"). Sus créditos incluyen la película Breaking and Entering, Children of Men y el Son of Rambow. También aparece en la secuela de Donnie Darko y la próxima película de terror 100 Feet.

Interpretó el rol de Alex en "Children of Men", de Alfonso Cuarón con Clive Owen y Julianne Moore.

Ed Westwick interpreta a Chuck Bass en el drama Gossip Girl de Josh Schwartz ("The O.C.) basado en una popular serie de libros acerca de adolescentes privilegiados que van a las más elitistas escuelas de New York.

Vida personal

Durante la filmación de Gossip Girl, Westwick reside en Nueva York, en el barrio de Chelsea, donde comparte un apartamento con su compañero de reparto Chace Crawford. Cuando no está filmando, Westwick vive en Hertfordshire, justo a las afueras de Londres. En una entrevista con la revista, Westwick dijo que apoyó la sede en Londres equipo de fútbol Chelsea FC. Actualmente Westwick mantiene una relación amorosa con su co-estrella de Gossip Girl Jessica Szohr, donde se les vio juntos en reiteradas ocasiones caminando juntos por la calles de New York en el 2009.
