Estremadura

Estremadura era una región del centro-oeste de Portugal, donde se ubica Lisboa. Fundamentalmente forma una península al oeste del estuario del Tajo.

No debe confundirse con la Extremadura española, si bien es posible que el nombre de ambas regiones provenga del hecho de que durante la Reconquista eran la frontera del territorio cristiano más allá del río Duero ("Extrema Duris")[cita requerida].
