Selección nacional

Al llegar a Italia, Forestieri decidió jugar con la selección de fútbol de Italia porque era el sueño de su familia, que decidió vivir y trabajar en Italia. Tras rechazar la llamada de la selección argentina sub-17, ha sido internacional con las selecciones italianas sub-17 (8 partidos, 5 goles), sub-19 (14 partidos, 4 goles) y sub-20 (1 partido).
