Wide receiver (también en español, 'receptor') (WR) es una posición en el fútbol americano y fútbol canadiense. Especializados en capturar los pases del quarterback para conseguir hacer touchdown o avanzar yardas, suelen ser los jugadores más rápidos y ágiles del equipo. También se encargan de realizar placajes al linebacker para bloquearlo en el caso que sea jugada de carrera.

Jerry Rice es considerado como mejor receptor en la historia de la NFL.[1]

Número

En la High School los receptores pueden usar cualquier número, pero en la National Football League sólo pueden usar los números entre el 10 y el 19 y entre 80 y 89.
