Gio Ponti (18 de noviembre de 1891 en Milán - 16 de septiembre de 1979 en Milán) fue uno de los arquitectos, diseñadores industriales, artistas y publicistas italianos más importantes del siglo XX.
Sus padres fueron Enrico Ponti y Giovanna Rigone. En 1921 se casó con Giulia Vimercati y tuvieron 4 hijos y 8 nietos.

Obras

Su obra más sobresaliente es el rascacielos "Pirelli",[1] antigua sede de la firma homonima por la cual fue construido entre 1956 y 1961. Actualmente es la sede de la "Regione Lombardía". Está ubicado en Milán a lado de la estación Central del ferrocarril.En el continente americano destacan la Villa Planchart (1953-1957) en Caracas, Venezuela y el Denver Art Museum (1970-1971) de Denver,Colorado, USA.
