Harley Street

Harley Street (Calle Harley) es una calle situada en la ciudad de Westminster, en Londres. Es notoria por la gran cantidad de consultorios privados de dentistas, cirujanos y médicos. Harley Street es sinónimo de "atención médica privada" en el Reino Unido.

A partir del s.XIX, se ha ido incrementando el número de doctores, hospitales y organizaciones médicas en los alrededores de Harley St. Los registros muestran que habían aproximadamente 20 doctores en 1860; 80 hacia 1900; y casi 200 para 1914. Cuando el National Health Service se estableció en 1948, había cerca de 1500 doctores. En la actualidad, ya están registrados más de 3000 personas empleadas en los hospitales, clínicas y prácticas médicas en la "zona" de Harley St.

Harley Street es propiedad de la familia de Walden, y está administrada por el Howard de Walden Estate.
