Isaac Alfasi

Isaac ben Jacob Alfasi (1013, cerca de Fez, Marruecos - 1103, Lucena, España) fue un intelectual judío marroquí y andalusí.

Pasó la mayor parte de su vida en Fez, pero en 1088 fue denunciado ante el gobierno y se vio obligado a huir a España. Se volvió dirigente de la comunidad judía en Lucena y fundó una reputada academia talmúdica, provocando un renacimiento de los estudios talmúdicos en España.

Su codificación del Talmud llamada Sefer Ha-halachot ("Libro de las leyes"), trata sobre la Halajá (ley hebrea) y está a la misma altura que las obras de Maimónides y Yosef Caro. Fue concluyente en el establecimiento de la supremacía del Talmud babilónico sobre el Talmud palestino.
