Israel (pronunciación en Ge'ez እስራኤል ʾIsrāʾēl or ይስራኤል Yisrāʾēl, c.590) fue un rey de Axum. Es principalmente conocido a través de las monedas acuñadas durante su reinado.

Según el Kebra Nagast y la tradición histórica de Etiopía Caleb de Axum tuvo dos hijos, Gabra Masqal e Israel. Mientras que Munro-Hay dice que Israel fue hijo del rey Caleb, la tradición ha recordado a Israel mejor que otros reyes entre ellos Caleb (o Gabra Masqal), y comprendió la suceción.[1] Richard Pankhurst menciona que el nombre de este rey es un claro ejemplo de temprana infuencia del judaísmo en la cultura etíope.[2]
