Jarrod Brian Stockley Smith (Havelock North, Nueva Zelanda, 20 de junio de 1984) es un futbolista internacional neozelandés. Juega de delantero y su equipo actual es el Seattle Sounders FC de Estados Unidos.

Biografía

Jarrod Smith empezó su carrera futbolística en Estado Unidos. Allí jugó para el Colorado Rapids U23's y Crystal Palace Baltimore. Este último equipo lo cedió un año al Hawke's Bay United de Nueva Zelanda, donde jugó 10 partidos y marcó dos goles.

El 2008 ficha por el Toronto FC, club con el que debuta en la Major League Soccer; Fue el 13 de abril en el partido Los Ángeles Galaxy 2-3 Toronto FC, en el que Jarrod Smith consiguió marcar el segundo tanto de su equipo.[1] Disputó esa temporada un total de 19 partidos.

En 2009 firma un contrato con su actual club, el Seattle Sounders.

Vida privada

Jarrod Smith es hijo del jugador internacional de críquet neozelandés Ian Smith.

Selección nacional

Ha sido internacional con la Selección de fútbol de Nueva Zelanda en 13 ocasiones. Su debut con la camiseta nacional se produjo el 23 de febrero de 2006 en el partido amistoso Nueva Zelanda 2-1 Malasia, cuando entró en el campo en el minuto 70 sustituyendo a su compatriota Campbell Banks.[2]

Con su selección ganó la Copa de las Naciones de la OFC en 2008.
