Jeff Widener (nacido en 1956) es el fotógrafo de Associated Press que tomó la imagen mundialmente conocida como El Rebelde Desconocido, en 1989, durante las Protestas de la Plaza de Tian'anmen de 1989. La fotografía muestra a un hombre protestando, desarmado y solitario, ante una columna de tanques que avanzaban por una avenida de Pekín.

Widener tomó la foto desde el sexto piso del Hotel Beijing, a 800 metros de distancia de la plaza, con una lente de 400 mm. Fue nominado al Premio Pulitzer por "Spot News Photography" en 1990 por esta toma.

En 2006, comenzó a trabajar como fotógrafo para el Honolulu Advertiser.

Widener ganó numerosos premios de la Society of Professional Journalists y quedó en segundo lugar en los premios de la National Press Photographers Association, celebrados en 2004.
