John A. Mackay (* Inverness, 1889 - † Hightstown, 1983 ) fue un misionero, filósofo y teólogo escocés. Fundador del Colegio San Andrés de Lima, Perú.

Biografía

John A. Mackay nació en la ciudad escocesa de Inverness, el 17 de mayo de 1889.

En 1916 Mackay y Jane Logan Wells, con quien se había casado, se embarcaron al Perú donde fundaron una escuela, la Escuela Anglo Peruana (hoy Colegio San Andrés), en Lima, bajo los auspicios de la Iglesia Libre de Escocia.

En 1925 Mackay fue nombrado Catedrático de Filosofía Moderna y de Metafísica en la Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos.


Falleció en la localidad de Hightstown (New Jersey), el 9 de junio de 1983.
