John Quidor (kĬdôr, Condado de Gloucester, Nueva Jersey, Estados Unidos, 26 de enero de 1801-14 de diciembre de 1881) fue un pintor de temas históricos y literarios americano.

Infancia y juventud

Quidor nació en el condado de Gloucester, en Nueva Jersey. En 1826 se mudó a la ciudad de Nueva York, donde estudió pintura bajo las enseñanzas de John Wesley Jarvis y Henry Inman.


Por años, Quidor vivió en una granja cerca de Quincy, Illinois, pero regresó a Nueva York en 1851.
