Jonas Gahr Støre (* Oslo, 25 de agosto de 1960 - ), es un político noruego, Ministro de Relaciones Exteriores.

Biografía

Nacido en 1960, es hijo de Ulf Jonas Støre y Unni Gahr. Estudió en la Escuela Berg de Oslo, integrándose después en la Real Academia Naval Noruega como oficial. Después estudió Ciencias Políticas en el Instituto de Estudios Políticos de París, y en la London School of Economics and Political Science como doctorando.

Empezó a trabajar como profesor en la Harvard Law School de la prestigiosa universidad estadounidense. Esto le permitió trabajar como investigador en la Escuela Noruega de Negocios y ser asesor de la oficina del Primer Ministro (1986-1989) donde más tarde ocupó el puesto de Director General para Asuntos Exteriores de 1995 a 1998. Posteriormente se le destinó como diplomático en la delegación noruega en la oficina de Naciones Unidas en Ginebra. Dentro de Naciones Unidas llegó a ser Director Ejecutivo de la Organización Mundial de la Salud.

En 2000 ocupó el puesto de Secretario de Estado y Jefe de Gabinete del Primer Ministro hasta que fue elegido Ministro de Relaciones Exteriores por Stoltenberg, el 17 de octubre de 2005 por el Primer Ministro Jens Stoltenberg en su segundo gabinete.

Støre es miembro del Partido Laborista Noruego. En las elecciones generales de 2009 en Noruega, Støre fue electo para el Parlamento noruego (Stortinget), representando a Oslo. Enter los comentaristas políticos de Noruega, Støre es considerado un potencial futuro Primer Ministro.
