Mojibake (文字化け? moji carácter + bake (de 化ける,bakeru) deformación) es una palabra procedente del japonés para referirse a los caracteres incorrectos e ilegibles que aparecen cuando se intentan visualizar conjuntos de caracteres internacionales mediante programas que no están configurados para ellos. A veces se usa también el vocablo ruso krakozyabry, o la palabra hebrea sinit (literalmente, "chino").

Se pronuncia [moʤibake], que a un hispanohablante suena "moyibake". En castellano también se la pronuncia "Mojibaco".[cita requerida]

Por ejemplo: "文字化け" puede mostrarse como "•¶Žš‰»‚¯"
