Alphabet City (Ciudad Alfabeto) fue antiguamente un vecindario peligroso, hoy es parte del East Village en el bajo Manhattan. Su nombre proviene de las avenidas A, B, C, y D, las únicas avenidas en Manhattan nombradas con una sola letra. Está rodeado por la calle Houston al sur y la calle 14 al norte.

En su trazado se encuentra el parque Tompkins y Stuyvesant Town. Acoge actualmetne a muchos artistas, músicos y estudiantes. A partir de los años 1990s hubo una reducción en su población bohemia.
