Muḥammad ʽAbduh (1849, Delta del Nilo - 11 de julio de 1905, Alejandría) fue un intelectual religioso, jurista y reformador liberal egipcio.

Como estudiante en El Cairo, estuvo bajo la influencia de Jamāl al-Dīn al-Afghānī. Fue exiliado por radicalismo político entre el período de 1882 y 1888; empezando su carrera judicial a su regreso a Egipto.

Ascendió de juez a mufti (asesor legal) en 1899. En su Tratado Sobre la Unicidad de Dios, argumenta que el Islam es superior al Cristianismo porque es más receptivo a la ciencia y la civilización. Liberalizó la ley y administración islámica, promoviendo consideraciones de equidad, bienestar y sentido común, aún cuando esto significara desacatar los propios textos del Corán.
