Pancakes son un tipo de pan o crepa elaborado con una pasta muy sencilla que se extiende generalmente sobre la superficie de una sartén. Existen muchas variantes en diferentes culturas y países, no sólo en los ingredientes sino en la forma de ser servido.

Día del Pancake

En el Reino Unido,[1] Irlanda,[2] y Australia,[3] los pancakes se sirven tradicionalmente en lo que se denomina el Shrove Tuesday conocido como el "Pancake Day". (El Shrove Tuesday se conoce mejor en Estados Unidos, En Francia y otros países mejor como Mardi Gras o Fat Tuesday.) De acuerdo con la tradición es la última oportunidad para comer algo nutritivo antes de que venga la Cuaresma.
