Anton Diffring (nombre real Anton de Vient 20 de octubre de 1918 en Coblenza, Alemania - 20 de mayo de 1989 en Francia) fue un actor alemán que hizo una carrera cinematográfica en Gran Bretaña después de 1950. Fue mejor conocido en el mundo de habla Inglésa, por su imagen de los oficiales alemanes, principalmente y de manera similar siniestro papeles, en películas como El desafío de las Águilas(1968) y Los héroes de Telemark (1965). Asimismo, protagonizó la película Operation Daybreak como el oficial de la SS Reinhard Heydrich. estelarizó las películas de terror The Man Who Could Cheat Death y Circus of Horrors. También trabajó en un buen número de películas internacionales, tales como Fahrenheit 451 dirigida por François Truffaut. Su última actuación fue como personaje nazi, de la BBC en 1988 la serie Doctor Who Silver Nemesis, en la que estuvo de acuerdo en aparecer porque la grabación coincidió con el 1988 Wimbledon Championships, el cual quería ver. Diffring trabajado hasta el momento de su muerte antes de sucumbir al cáncer. Murió en su casa en Chateauneuj-de-Grasse en el sur de Francia.
